Update on 'Australian Natives Vol.1'

There has been a lot of interest in this new product which is still in development, we are putting a huge amount of time into this new Australian plant\tree library - and it does take time. Some of the included trees can take up to 80 hours from start to finish, we are well known for the quality of our work and rest assured - the bar has been raised on this project.

We have just completed 2 new Ozbreed plants which will be available soon, keep an eye on the Ozbreed web site for more information.

VectorWorks - Trees of the South Pacific & Australian Native Starter Disc

"Trees of the South Pacific" and "The Australian Natives Starter Disc" for VectorWorks 2008\2009 will be available on CD Rom in late Jan\early Feb 08. Keep an eye out on the news page for further details.

Other news

We will be working through the Christmas and New Year break, so if you need to contact us - we will be checking our e-mails on a daily basis.

In early April 09 we will be in Melbourne for one week to get the final shots to complete the new Australian native product due for release next year. Hundreds of hours have been invested in what will be a top quality and comprehensive Australian native plant library.

Australian native trees and plants update

An Australian native trees and plants development preview page will be available soon.

Initially we had intended to sell this product in parts, as a downloadable product.

We will be in negotiations at some stage with a potential reseller\distributor in Australia for this product and need to take this into account. It would be unfair to both our customers and the potential distributor to sell before the physical CD-Rom is complete.

A new development page with previews will be created, also - suggestions and feedback will be encouraged in terms of proposed plant species.

Revit users update

With the growing use of Revit in architectural practices - we get a lot of inquiries from people wanting to use 'Trees of the South Pacific' content in architectural renders.

Revit uses a 'RPC' plug-in produced by Archvision for content such as plants etc. Archvision owns the rights to 'RPC' content which excludes the distribution of 'RPC' files in any form whatsoever.
This means we can not create our products in 'RPC' format and sell to Revit users.

Revit users can however download a free 'RPC' content creator from Archvision. With the 'RPC' content creator, users can quickly convert our plants into 'RPC' files which will then work in Revit. Hopefully we can get more information from Archvision regarding distribution, if you would like further information please feel free to get in touch.

When will the Australian native plants become available?

The first eight Australian native plants will be available to purchase and download at the end of this month. At this stage we intend to sell the plants in bundles rather than individually with pricing for the first bundle of eight between $19 - $28.

We have had a lot of requests for various Australian species and are always keen to hear your suggestions. Likewise, if you have any digital photos of a plant you would like us to produce - please feel free to get in touch. If we end up using your supplied photo we will give you a free copy of the completed plant and add you to our Australian beta e-mail list.

Aspect Landesign - customer spotlight

Australian native trees and plants update

The Australian native trees and plants library is still in production, more information including a preview page will be available soon. It is expected this library will be released on CD Rom in volumes of 20 species.

Changes to currency

Please be aware we will be making changes to the currency for online orders. With a growing international customer base the prices will change from $NZ to $US. Bank direct credit and cheques can still be made out in local currencies.

Revit expert needed

News for April

The bonus disc master will be sent next week for replication and printing, we will start sending them out as soon as they arrive. The edge painting on the kowhai tree alone took over fifty hours to complete, probably seventy hours to create the tree from start to finish.

We have 35 copies of "Trees Of The South Pacific" left at the special $99 price, the feedback from architects who have purchased the disc has been fantastic - so take this opportunity to get a copy before the price goes back up. All 35 $99 copies have now been sold.

After the success of the architects ten day Trees Of The South Pacific promotion, we have decided to extend the architects $99 special until our last 63 copies are sold. The normal price will apply thereafter when the next disc re-run arrives from our supplier.

The Animation LaunchPad

Jonathan Fowler, a digital effects producer from The Animation LaunchPad has kindly sent some images of his work utilising trees and plants from the Trees Of The South Pacific CD ROM.

Animation Launchpad creates 3d models of houses and apartment buildings, and then creates still images and animations from these.
Developers have also found this a very useful way of visualising their development from all angles and making any necessary adjustments.

The Enviro Graphic "Trees of the South Pacific" has been a great addition to place high quality images of native flora.

The images of the 3d houses supplied were used by 'Winstone Homes' to sell their homes on their website and in printed advertisements.

Free tree bonus disc update

As mentioned in December, when you order Trees Of The South Pacific we will ship a free tree bonus disc in Feb 07 containing 10 high res NZ native trees and plants.

Customers who have already purchased Trees Of The South Pacific will also receive the bonus disc at no charge, we will be shipping the disc to the address you supplied when you ordered Trees Of The South Pacific, if your address has changed - please let us know as soon as possible.

There will be more great news in April regarding a second free bonus disc - until then here are the 10 bonus trees and plants shipping this month including an update to the Pohutukawa from Trees Of The South Pacific.

NZ native grasses

Here are some more shots of NZ native grasses in production, at this stage we intend to produce a cd rom containing 30-40 unique NZ grasses. The price and release date are yet to be decided.

Like all our alpha channel images they are hand traced and the edges are hand painted so they render beautifully in 3d or 2d software.
